Water Irrigation Ear wax Removal

Ear syringing in Leicester general practice surgeries was a common procedure performed by the nurses or Doctors a few years ago. However, due to the latest regulations most medical practices have now stopped offering the service. Majority of Ear cleaning services in Leicestershire are now available only privately. Another method we use for ear wax removal services is Water irrigation, this involves flushing the ear canal with a gentle stream of warm water to dislodge and remove earwax.

How is water irrigation performed?

Using a specialized irrigator device it gently flows warm water into the ear. The
Audiologist carefully directs the water stream into the ear canal. The water dislodges and flushes out the ear wax, which then flows out of the ear along with the water. The person receiving the treatment usually sits in the chair and is advised to try and keep their head as still as possible. The process may be repeated as necessary to ensure effective wax removal.
